I had a blog named “A New Road” I opened in 2012. Visit it if you like to either remind yourself or discover who I was. I went by Blue Bird or BB and my husband was Rooster. It was to journal about introducing and implementing Domestic Discipline in our marriage. I was pretty active on it for 2 years. Then life happened......hard. Ttwd gradually faded away, until it was just a yearning, a dream with no energy or will to implement it.
We have recently started talking about it again and I hope we will be able to soon. I don’t know how dedicated I can or will be to this blog. I am writing for myself. I started feeling the need to write, to purge the angst from the last decade from my heart and conscious in order to move on to this next decade from a better place and to attempt to record and make sense of the self exploration and discovery I seem to be going through right now.
So this is my new blog Paisley’s Place. I am now Paisley, I am not THAT person Blue Bird any more. My husband is still Rooster. I named him that in our first year of marriage and he will always be Rooster. This is the story in my previous blog you can read if interested in how he got that name. There maybe mention of our son who I will call The Historian, or H for short, I used to call him the Apprentice but he is an adult now.
We have been married 26 years and are beginning our second try at Dd, Ds, ttwd. Why try again you ask? The first time around wasn’t perfect but it brought us closer together in every way, created an intimacy that I have never experienced before or since. But it had to be nurtured, actively pursued and more importantly, involve complete honesty. The organization of our dynamic was not set up to strip us both down to our basic needs, wants, desires, fantasies or impulses. And well.... too much shit went down to think about ourselves. I will fill you in on that maybe, mostly because I need to enumerate it and purge it. Really look and examine this whole last decade, so hopefully I can let it go.
